Thank you to all the FIMS users who attended the MicroEdge Solutions Conference this year. Each year, it gets better and better, with more targeted educational tracks and relevant sessions for our users. We spoke with a few FIMS users to hear what they had to say about the conference:

Dwight Canning, Chief Financial Officer with the St. Louis Community Foundation
“I gave this year’s Solutions Conference a big thumbs-up. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the conference a 10. I thought it was terrific,” asserted Dwight Canning, Chief Financial Officer with the St. Louis Community Foundation. Dwight attended the conference for its educational aspects, so he could learn how to get more out of FIMS. “Using FIMS is a continual learning process. Every time I spend some one-on-one time with the FIMS staff, I learn how to glean a little more information out of FIMS.” The most valuable session for Dwight? The reporting labs!

Spencer Butler, Donor Services Associate for Western North Carolina Community Foundation
“It was a wonderful educational experience to extend my knowledge about FIMS in a venue that enabled me to do so without any other distractions,” said Spencer Butler, Donor Services Associate for Western North Carolina Community Foundation. “It was great to have your entire focus for 3 days on what you can do with FIMS. The sessions were small and it was very easy to interact with the instructors.”

As head of the FIMS User Group, Spencer knows FIMS well. She has been using FIMS for more than five years, but feels that even so, she learned a lot at the MicroEdge Solutions Conference. “I came back from the conference armed with quite a bit of new knowledge about electronic data management and about the extensive customization capabilities available in FieldMaker—we’re all pretty excited about it.”

“Palm Healthcare Foundation is a new FIMS client, and the Solutions Conference really opened our eyes to the power behind FIMS,” said John Peters, Chief Financial Officer for the foundation. “In addition to the tremendous educational aspects of the conference, the networking and sharing was really great.” John also felt that the educational and networking aspects of the conference helped expose him to so much more than what he sees in his day-to-day environment in FIMS, giving him vital insight into the many ways FIMS can help his organization work smarter.
