MicroEdge/NPO Solutions Selected by Community Foundations Technology Steering Committee
Collaboration Paves the Way for the Development of CRM, API, and Next Generation Foundation Management Systems
New York, NY, February 12, 2004 - MicroEdge, Inc., the world's leading provider of solutions and services for the non-profit community, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Advent Software, (NASDAQ:AADVS), and its subsidiary NPO Solutions, Inc., today announced that the company has been selected to provide key components of the Technology Steering Committee (TSC) technology initiative. The TSC is a funding syndicate initiated by a consortium of community foundations to invest in and enhance the technology solutions upon which they rely. MicroEdge/NPO Solutions will develop an Applications Programming Interface (API) and a comprehensive Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to enhance and extend the company's FIMS and FoundationPower information management solutions, which are the leading information technology systems for community foundations and other organizations with complex fund accounting and donor relationship needs.
"We have been working closely with the community foundation field for over fifteen years," said Ephy Torenberg, President and CEO of MicroEdge, Inc. "We remain committed to this community, and we are delighted to work with the Technology Steering Committee and the entire field to ensure that foundations have the tools they need to fulfill their objectives as efficiently and effectively as possible. The additional CRM functionality we have planned will make community foundations more competitive and better able to serve donors and the API will be a key step in our open systems strategy."
Final contracts were executed at the end of 2003. Development of the CRM and API has already begun and first release will take approximately 12 months, with various deliveries expected to begin at the second half of 2004.
"The Technology Steering Committee is pleased to reach this understanding with MicroEdge/NPO, as the company has been an important resource to the community foundation field for many years," said Sid Hartman, Chairman of the Technology Steering Committee. "Given their expertise and service to our field, we are confident that MicroEdge/NPO is the best choice for the CRM and API projects."
Greg McMillen, Vice President and CIO of the Central Indiana Community Foundation said, "We are excited about the agreement between TSC and MicroEdge/NPO. We have been relying on MicroEdge/NPO for our fund accounting and grant making for over six years. We are looking forward to these new developments, which will enable us to introduce even tighter links with external software packages, as well as enhance our donor development program."
