MicroEdge Releases IGAM 3 for FIMS

New version of online grant application solution makes it easier for community foundations to accept online submissions

New York - September 24, 2008 - MicroEdge, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advent Software (NASDAQ: ADVS) and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, today released an update to IGAM, the company’s popular online grant application solution. This latest version, IGAM 3 for FIMS, further streamlines the online grantmaking process and provides new features and support for community foundations using MicroEdge FIMS - Foundation Information Management System.

IGAM 3 for FIMS makes it easier for community foundations to accept online submissions of grant requests. Currently in limited release with early adopters, IGAM 3 for FIMS provides enhanced functionality, integration and customization capabilities to improve a grant applicant’s online experience, while automating key steps in the online grant application process.

IGAM 3’s flexible design enables applications to be customized to collect virtually any type of information required to support a community foundation’s practices and procedures. Organizations can even require supporting attachments for a complete online submission, ensuring they receive all the information needed to review an application, and reducing the need for staff to follow up with applicants for missing documentation. Seamless integration allows an automated flow of information directly from the grant application into the FIMS system, further simplifying the administrative aspects of receiving and processing grant applications.

“Online grantmaking remains a top technology concern for grantmakers,” said MicroEdge Vice President Kevin Carlsten. “This interest was recently reinforced by Project Streamline, a collaborative effort of grantmaking and grantseeking organizations working to improve grant application and reporting practices. Among the key recommendations in their recent report, ‘Drowning in Paperwork, Distracted by Purpose’, was to take advantage of technology in the grant application process. We applaud the work of Project Streamline, and are very excited about this latest update to IGAM, which provides community foundations with a seamless, automated process for accepting grant applications via the Internet, while providing a better, easier experience for grant applicants.”
