MicroEdge, Inc. Releases GIFTS® Plus Pack .NET Extension Version 4.5
New module automatically configures GIFTS® grants management system to track and analyze outcomes
NEW YORK – March 31, 2009 &ndash MicroEdge, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advent Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADVS) and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, today announced the release of GIFTS® Plus Pack .NET Extension version 4.5, a powerful set of tools for the GIFTS® grants management solution. This latest version provides users with GIFTS® Outcomes Plus, a new add-on module that makes it easier for giving organizations to track and analyze outcomes.
GIFTS® Outcomes Plus makes it simpler to capture, track and analyze outcomes for each grant made and organization-wide. GIFTS® Outcomes Plus was developed following the framework concepts, tools and templates defined by MicroEdge’s outcome partner, The Rensselaerville Institute (TRI), a highly regarded non-profit group that has been dedicated to measuring and improving outcomes in all fields of human achievement for more than 45 years. The combination of TRI’s outcome-based business logic and MicroEdge’s industry leading grants management solution provides a powerful methodology and set of tools that enable giving organizations to accurately capture and track exactly what happens to the financial investment they make through their grants.
With GIFTS® Outcomes Plus, giving organizations can select from several different investment types, such as Improving Lives (direct service) or Capacity Building, and instantly configure GIFTS® to track the appropriate outcome-related information. All outcome information can be incorporated into the grants management workflow and included in correspondence, reports and various data views from within the GIFTS® system. As a result, GIFTS® Outcomes Plus eliminates the need to manually configure GIFTS® to track this information, and provides a best practices approach to analyzing and improving outcomes.
According to Peter Byer, MicroEdge Vice President of Sales and Service, “GIFTS® Outcomes Plus helps grantmakers streamline and simplify the process of establishing baselines for tracking and reporting outcomes. TRI’s outcomes framework, along with the tools provided through Outcomes Plus, helps organizations achieve greater effectiveness in their grantmaking and stronger results from grants made. It enables organizations to verify the success of each grant with increased rigor but without the high cost and time of formal evaluation.”
“GIFTS® Outcomes Plus is a significant milestone in the effort to move the interaction of grantmakers and grantees from a focus on what they do to what they achieve,” says Harold S. Williams, Senior Fellow and former President of The Rensselaerville Institute. “It enhances grantmaking effectiveness with more powerful ways to compare the front end (grant selection) and back end (grant performance) at individual and grant cluster levels, and ultimately helps grantmakers improve the results that are achieved.”
Through seamless integration the GIFTS® Plus Pack adds features, functionality and value to the MicroEdge GIFTS® grants management system, enabling rapid deployment of new functionality through the Microsoft® .NET framework, a proven web services strategy and framework. GIFTS® Plus Pack .NET Extension is a one-time purchase, after which all new modules in the Plus Pack are provided to users at no additional cost as part of the MicroEdge maintenance and support program. There are currently ten Plus Pack modules that quickly and efficiently enhance the functionality of GIFTS®. For more information, visit www.microedge.com/products/giftspluspack.
