MicroEdge Makes GIFTS® v6.1 Available For General Release
Robust upgrade now available for most widely installed grantmaking software in the world
New York, June 19, 2006 - MicroEdge, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advent Software (NASDAQ: ADVS) and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, announced the general release of GIFTS® v6.1, a follow-on upgrade of its powerful GIFTS® 6 grantmaking software. "GIFTS® v6.1 is an example of the new approach to rapidly-deployed, incremental upgrades from MicroEdge," said Benny Melumad, Director of GIFTS® Development. "We listened to our users, who told us they want access to the latest developmental improvements as they come on line. The days of waiting for large, complex upgrades are over. We believe the best value is found in implementing available enhancements that immediately increase productivity."
GIFTS® v6.1 has added new features to its robust GIFTS® 6 platform, which include:
- GIFTS® Report Manager - giving users the ability to automate and schedule the creation and delivery of GIFTS® reports. Report Manager can also be launched directly from GIFTS®. This flexible utility also permits users to save reports in a variety of file formats, including - HTML, Word, Excel, PDF and others. Report Manager can also schedule reports to be e-mailed at the completion of batch runs.
- A wide range of compatibility certifications not previously available, such as Microsoft Word 2003 SP-2, Microsoft Excel 2003 SP-2, Microsoft Server 2003SP-2, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, QuickBooks 2006, Blackbaud Financial Edge 7.5 0.32 and Crystal Reports XI.
- Single sign-on support for GIFTS Connections® - meaning that MyGIFTS® and ReviewerCONNECT® login can be integrated with SiteMinder and other SSO security systems.
- Background scheduling of database maintenance - which lets users establish a maintenance schedule that doesn't conflict with regular system activity or when other users are not logged on. Maintenance is necessary to prevent database corruption and streamline database size by removing unneeded temporary data.
Early users of GIFTS® v6.1 have expressed their approval as well. According to Kelly Kleppe, Bush Foundation Grants Manager, "GIFTS® v6 and v6.1 have enabled us to substantially simplify our daily workflow.
