MicroEdge Expands Strategic Relationship with Foundation Center
MicroEdge Clients Get Easy, Electronic Submission of Grants Reports to Foundation Center, with Free Access to Interactive Maps and Charts of Giving Data
New York - October 15, 2008 - MicroEdge, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advent Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADVS) and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, today announced an expanded relationship with the Foundation Center, the nation’s leading authority on philanthropy and publisher of Foundation Directory Online (FDO), the premier online tool for researching U.S. grantmakers and their grants. MicroEdge is the first grants management software company to work with the Foundation Center to promote its newly enhanced eGrant Reporting Program, which enables funders to electronically submit a wealth of valuable giving data to the Center for inclusion into FDO’s grants database of 1.2 million recently awarded grants.
FDO’s top-tier service plan, FDO Professional, includes profiles of more than 95,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities in the U.S. The Foundation Center has enhanced FDO Professional to provide new data visualization tools that allow for interactive, graphical views of the distribution of a funder’s recently awarded grants. In exchange for submitting eGrant reports to the Center on a regular basis, participants in the eGrant Reporting Program gain free access to interactive charts and maps from FDO of their own giving data upon request. MicroEdge was an early supporter of the Foundation Center’s eGrant reporting efforts, and the MicroEdge GIFTS® and FIMS software have long included special Foundation Center reports, which have been further developed for the latest version of FDO Professional.
