MicroEdge Introduces FIMS Chart It for Community Foundations
New York, May 15, 2006 - MicroEdge, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advent Software (NASDAQ: ADVS) and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, announced today the release of FIMS Chart It, the first of its kind charting module for its FIMS(Foundation Information Management System) product line. With built in .NET technology, this utility integrates with FIMS to enhance reporting and data management, a critical part of foundation accountability.
FIMS Chart It works in conjunction with FIMS customizable data grids, allowing users to easily create presentation ready charts and graphs, view data for side-by-side comparisons, and conduct enhanced analysis of foundation performance.
According to David Dietrich, VP Strategy and Product Management for MicroEdge, "FIMS Chart It is the first of a new series of modules to be created using .NET technology. .NET allows the development of modules like FIMS Chart It with only minimal changes to the core FIMS application. This means our clients get product advances and new capability more quickly. Plus this approach ensures full integration with current and future technologies."
FIMS is the most widely installed system for community foundations and faith-based organizations, managing over 85% of the industry assets. FIMS integrated grants management and financial management capabilities allow foundations of all sizes to provide more efficient service and information sharing within the foundation as well as with donors and the communities they support.
Richard Drolet is Director of MIS at the Community Foundation of New Haven, a foundation supporting over $250 million in assets and has been a FIMS user for 11 years. FIMS Chart It is currently available and is compatible with FIMS 11.
